After the Epiphany will return to update the blog more frequently - a tour de force was to Christmas but do some victims - and the new arrivals will give us the right excuse. The Evolution Of A Cro-Magnon
Punkhouse John Joseph, 428 pp, English
Forget Cro-Mags , their records and their many incarnations, and let John Joseph - who is the singer of the group more representative - stories and spends 40 years of his life, including scenarios and surreal tragicomic anecdotes. From a childhood spent in foster care in the canteen outside the arenas of artificial acid rock New York, years of homelessness, friendship with Bad Brains, the period from Punkrocker marines and love / hate by Flanagan (bassist), which essentially closed to the group the best trading opportunities. Ample space was given to his being a hare krishna, for better or for worse: the hilarious experiences as a devout / beggar in Hawaii and Manhattan, with John Joseph committed to extort money from Japanese tourists pretending to be a Santa Claus or lame ever in the name of Krishna ; much more reasoned the broad accusation that then moves to the movement as it is still involved. Recurring phrase of the book is "a crook can keep away from the scam, but you can not eradicate the scam by a con man," and all that JJ tells him so disenchanted with good self-mockery, in a tone that smacks of "I know ... I did a lot of crap but so much so, it is good that I'm here to tell you .... "Manufactured by his own publishing house (Punkhouse," a poser-free zone "), the volume also includes some photo page that helps to imagine in the most disparate JJ situations. 428 pages, $ 15, one of the best books of the branch had music in his hands.
